RB Components Bug net for slider door - let the fresh air in while keeping the pesky bugs out

Updated: Feb 19, 2020

They are a bit pricey but are comparable to a lot of the other Sprinter van slider screens that are currently available. I know many vanlifers have found success using a much cheaper screen option off amazon. The RB Comp screen is much higher quality and I believe would be much more durable in the long run. The magnets in the screen work great and make it nice and easy to go in/out, while closing nicely when passed through (the cheaper option had a lot of gaps in the screen and did not close very well). I was surprised to see that the screen still left some small gaps at the bottom along the runner in the sliding door but this did not seem to let bugs in. The screen itself can be rolled up when not needed and we have found that to be a nice feature to keep it secured and out of the way (another thing that the cheaper amazon screen couldn't do). The door can be completely closed without getting caught up in the net. Lastly, it is nice to be able to unzip and remove the entire

screen, while still keeping the foundation intact in the door frame, although the screen is not super tight in the door gasket so if you are planning on keeping the frame of the screen in year round, you could seal the door gasket better by adding some glue, etc. We have had the screen come out of the door gasket a few times if the screen is tugged on too much. Overall, the screen does a great job of keeping the mosquitoes and bugs out, despite the fact that the screen doesn't "completely"

seal at the bottom of the slider door.
