My new best friend for soreness and recovery.......

This sweet little compact device by Massage Therapy Concepts is quickly becoming my new best friend when it comes to needing some relief from aching joints/muscles or as a way to enhance my recovery after a hard ride.

Basically, Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is meant to be used to help treat pain by stimulating the nervous system. EMS machines are generally used with the thought that they may help stimulate the muscles for the purpose of strengthening/rehabilitating them. If any of you have done physical therapy before, chances are you probably have used TENS or EMS at some point. You can get the benefit of both TENS and EMS with this combo unit by Massage Therapy concepts. For active individuals who want a great way to recover or for those that suffer from some type of chronic or acute pain (basically all of us at some point!) - this device may just turn into your best friend.

It is super easy to use, lightweight, portable and compact (making it a great travel companion). This device has 12 different therapeutic modes including acupuncture, deep tissue, muscle building, cupping, and back pain. Some of the modes are a combination of EMS and TENS if you want the benefit of both. I generally like the TENS modes for when I have joint pain, and the combo modes when I'm hoping for a way to recover after a hard workout. While I can't make any scientific claims regarding recovery and muscle building, I know that personally, this device really helps reduce my joint pain and muscle soreness for me after a hard workout. I've used many recovery tools including foam and "stick" rollers as well as massage guns. Each piece of equipment has it's benefits and everyone will have their own personal preference for what works best for them. The Massage Therapy Concepts combo unit is cheaper than many foam rollers and much cheaper than a decent massage gun (plus I believe they also have a 60 day money-back guarantee). For me, I feel like I get many of the benefits of the massage gun and rollers without having to roll around awkwardly on a foam roller!

Please Note: Before using this device, please consult with your doctor or medical professional, as this review is not meant to provide any medical advice or make any specific claims.
